New Weird and Disgusting Cola Flavors from Pepsi Released in Japan

JAPAN LOVES BIZARRE STUFF, ADD PEPSI COLA FLAVORS TO THAT LIST

In Japan, there are food and drinks options that cannot be found anywhere else. Let’s enter the realm of soda specifically.  Pepsi, the beverage giant and red headed step child of Coca Cola has really out flavored itself in Japan. We present you six bizarre, weird and  disgusting cola flavors of Pepsi designed for the Japanese taste buds.

GET YOUR SUMMER BODY READY WITH THESE REFRESHING, IF NOT WEIRD AND DISGUSTING FLAVORS OF PEPSI

Our first entry is Pepsi Ice Cucumber. Cool and refreshing, this blend of artificial flavors mixing cola and cucumber. Although with no actual cucumber juice added, the unnatural-looking pale green soda has recently been discontinued. A spokesman for the company mentioned that summer 2018 might see a rebirth, but we and most likely you hope not.

Pepsi Salty Watermelon, because watermelon was supposed to be salty, right? Summer in Japan can be quite warm and humid, one of the best treats is some fresh watermelon, or cola mixed with fake watermelon flavoring. They capitalized on the summer tradition of sprinkling a little salt on your watermelon on a hot summer day by launching a soda flavor that reflects that blend of sweet and salty artificial flavors. This is noted as the best Japanese flavor of the bunch.

MILK, PINEAPPLE, HAZELNUT, JAPAN REALLY KNOWS HOW TO PARTY

Pink Pepsi Cola, what the hell is that exactly? For years, soda pop producers have squared off against the dairy industry in Japan (scary right?). Children love carbonated beverages, whereas milk does not have as wide of an appeal. However, Pink combines delicious strawberry-milk flavoring with the carbonation every child craves. Predictably, it does not count as a serving of dairy.

Pepsi Blue Hawaii. Keeping to the tropical theme of summer fruit, this variety burst onto the scene. The flavoring is a combination of lemon and pineapple. The taste could be worse; for instance, it could taste like the Ice Cucumber flavor. The two products also share a neon color. Whereas Ice Cucumber looks like radioactive waste from the swamp thing, this looks like antifreeze, with a taste to match.

Pepsi Mont Blanc. One of the most popular desserts in Japan is named after the eleventh tallest mountain in the world. The fake flavor here is chestnut cake topped high with whipped cream frosting. They attempted to capitalize on the sweet’s popularity by producing the dessert-flavored soda. The beverage was relatively popular compared to Ol’ Pinky.

CHRISTMAS = WHITE COLORED COLA THAT TASTES LIKE ORANGE. IF THAT’S NOT ENOUGH, HERE’S SOME DOUBLE CAFFEINE

Pepsi Strong, because they are creative with titling these disgusting sodas. Perfect for the always-on-the-go Japanese businessperson, this flavor has twice as much caffeine as a regular cola. taste is less jarring than Jolt Cola, but the burning of the esophagus is twice as intense. Nevertheless, the drink has become so popular that entire Pepsi Shot bars have been established in Tokyo.

Pepsi White. This is the latest flavor to appear on the Japanese market. It was developed specially for the 2017 holiday season and has a powerful, but not overpowering, orange flavor. It is strange to see clear and taste orange though. As weird as this product is, it pales in comparison to the 2008 version which was yogurt flavored.
