MONTY PYTHON FANS ABUZZ, WILL WE GET SOME 50TH ANNIVERSARY FUN?

Whoah!  Yes, please!  Fans of all the brilliant Monty Python stars are all up in a happy tizzy.  But you can damn well betcha that I’m one of them, too.  So why, you ask?  Because there has been a sign from the ether that something amazing just might be afoot.  So sure, it’s not always easy to glean meaning such as this from life.  But for Monty Python fans, we’ll sip from whatever holy grail they present us with.  So let’s all hope and hope some more that there will be a Monty Python 50th Anniversary happening soon!

ERIC IDLE SET THE STAGE AFLAME, TWEETS ABOUT MEMBER “SKYPE CALL”

So what started this desperate hope?  Well, last week, all the surviving stars got together to catch up on a Skype call.  And yes, there is a generational hiccup talking about Monty Python and Skype.  So on Twitter, Eric Idle announced he was “getting together” with John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin.  His 380,000 Twitter followers all went nuts.  But thre are two things to look at there.  One, he only has 380,000 followers on Twitter.  Two, I am now also following them all on Twitter.  Oh, and three, those numbers are all going to jump just a wee tad.

IDLE PROTESTS TOO MUCH, SO LET’S ALL ROAR FOR TIMELY ENCORE

Idle wrote, “Just waiting for a Python meeting to start.  I’m on Skype. As usual they are late! I’ll send them your love.”  Fans were totally quick to comment.  One wrote, “This makes me so happy!” Another also said, “Please do send lots of love! So happy you all are meeting.”  But then fans began to wonder what it all could really mean.  The math wasn’t too hard.  So it was an easy leap to wonder if something might be happening, say, like a 50th Anniversary something?  But there seems to be some fishery here.  Just a month ago Idle said they had no plans to do anything for the half-century anniversary.

But if I had to guess, these guys want to be sure we still want them.  So let’s all go out and bang some coconuts togethers and demand some serious fun.
