MARK HAMILL WEARS THE PANTS, ANSWERS STAR WARS TRIVIA CHALLENGE IN STYLE

So Star Wars, A New Hope came out in theaters waaaaay back in the year 1978.  But that was 41 years ago!  So obviously, we know all there is to know about that production, right?  But maybe not.  Maybe not by a long shot.  But ever since, fans have loved, enjoyed and revisited the film over and over again.  I know I have!  So what did people wear?  How did they deal with the desert?  So what really happened behind the scenes?  These questions have been asked and answered, literally for years on end.  So when one fan tweeted a challenge at Mark Hamill, he responded with a tidbit we never ever heard before!  But that’s the short(s) answer.

NATIONAL TRIVIA DAY SPARKED TWEETED FAN’S CHALLENGE REQUEST

So the fan issued the challenge on National Trivia Day, which makes this even more fun.  Disclaimer: I never, ever heard of this day before.  But the Google says it was on Friday, January 4th.  So Daynne Heunink tweeted Hamill at his @HamillHimself handle.  He said, “Seeing how it’s “national trivia day,” do you have any little known facts to bestow upon us?  So the man who played (plays?) Luke Skywalker delivered in perfect fashion.  Hamill replied, “Because of a record heatwave in England when we filmed the original #StarWars, most of the pilots wore only the top-half of their costume, attacking the Death Star wearing shorts.  #TrueStory”

LET’S ALL GO BACK AND WATCH IT AGAIN, JUST TO ENJOY SHOOTING THE BREEZE

So Boom!  Mark Hamill doesn’t joke around.  Ok, maybe when he does the voice for Batman’s the Joker.  But now every fan has every reason to go back and watch Episode IV all over again.  Those were some big scenes with a lot of characters!  First off, I had forgotten there was any such record heat wave in England.  But hey, I was a little kid at the time.  I’m just happy I got to see Star Wars in the theater for the first time.  So, yeah, let go, Luke.  Feel the force.  You’re just wearing your shorts, which should make it easy.

And for the ladies out there, no, we don’ know if this trivia applied to Han Solo in the Falcon as well.
