WTF?! LG Poland Goes Upskirt in Latest Cell Phone Ad

HOW THE HELL COULD LG POLAND POST AN AD TOUTING IT’S CELL PHONE AS AN UPSKIRT DEVICE?

So sometimes people in advertising make some bad calls.  But this kind of takes it to a totally new level.  Someone working for LG Poland put together an ad touting how good their new phone is to take upskirt pictures.  I kid you not.  So yes, that’s a bad call.  Or, you could say that someone needs some serious counseling.  Maybe fire them?  But even worse, someone else at LG Poland APPROVED this upskirt ad.  You know, let’s sell phones so that men (presumably) can take pictures of women’s panties (if they’re wearing them).  Ugh.  WTF?!  It’s not lie Poland is an overwhelmingly Catholic country or anything.

AD FEATURES AN OLD MAN TAKING NAUGHTY PICS OF A YOUNG WOMAN ON THE STAIRS, PICS HIDDEN

Hmmm.  Anyway.  LG Poland’s upskirt ad was a video they posted to TikTok.  So you know, a how to?  See?  This is how easy it is to sneak an upskirt pic with our new LG camera.  Because branding.  Sigh.  In the ad, you see a man taking upskirt pics of a woman as she goes up stairs ahead of him.  And yes, she is wearing a skirt.  What else?  The man, of course, is older than the woman.  Um, he’s elderly.  Then, the woman in the ad grabs the phone looking for the pics.  But the LG Poland phone only shows selfies of the man.  See?  It’s great for taking sexually shaming and violating pics.

AND HERE I THOUGHT POLAND WAS CATHOLIC?  LOOKS TO BE PRETTY PERVY TO ME

So LG Poland has apologized, of course.  But you can’t um, skirt this issue.  As soon as people saw the ad, they started complaining.  Duh.  LG Poland immediately took the ad down, as they should.  But the horse done left the barn, guys.  They issued a statement apologizing.  But they also claim that the ad didn’t receive “proper approval” for social media content.  You think?  Personally, I have some doubts.  Ads don’t just go up.  There’s a process.  It’s corporate.  If it did skip that process, they’d have fired and vilified the idiots that allowed it up.  But I hear only crickets. Way to go, LG Poland.
