The disturbing news involves a man in Kentucky who lived a double life, but his secret life was anathema to his public and professional one, as well as being completely illegal anywhere in the West. Before he got busted, he was considered a local community leader. A former Kentucky principal, Stephen Kyle Goodlett was the sort who was recognized as a mentor to kids, went to church every Sunday and worked every weekday as an educator in local schools. But while he maintained his public profile, he secretly dealt in child pornography going back to 2005.

In what can only be thoroughly traumatizing to the parent of any child who attended one of the two schools Goodlett working at going back all those years, it’s now known that this apparent snake in the grass used his position in area schools to get access to private, inappropriate pictures of students that he could copy and use to his own ends. Goodlett’s access to confiscated student phones turned them into a resource that he could search for nude photos of young girls that he could later use to trade on the internet. Goodlett was a teacher for several years at Elizabethtown High School before he was hired as an administrator in 2012 at LaRue County High.

BUSTED AFTER FORMER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT FOUND HER NAKED PICS ON RUSSIAN WEBSITE
The 37-year-old got busted after a former LaRue County High student went to Elizabethtown police when she discovered that naked images she had taken for her boyfriend when she was 15 were on a porn trading website in Russia. The police sought federal help, who were able to track the IP address used to upload images which matched a device owned by Goodlett. The initial review of Goodlett’s hardware turned up 60 instances of child porn, with a later forensic review identifying more, with 436 photos and 11 videos. Goodlett awaits sentencing in Louisville after pleading guilty to federal charges of transporting and possessing child pornography. He faces 5-40 years. His plea agreement suggests he does 9 years of prison time.
