Bieber and Ford Lead Team Canada at The Buffoon Games

The entire world has probably heard by now that there is a petition with over 100,000 signatures going before the White House requesting that Canadian pop idol to the tweenies, Justin Bieber, have his American Visa revoked and be deported because he’s been a bad boy. Let’s examine this for the White House:

People of notoriety who have been deported or expelled from the USA:

  • Griselda Blanco, aka the Black Widow (drug lord, cocaine cartel, deported in 2004)
Hermine Braunsteiner Ryan (Nazi war criminal, extradited in 1973)
Mazen Al Najjar (a leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, deported in 2002)
Ernst Zündel (neo-Nazi holocaust denier, who was not only deported from the USA, but from Canada in 2005)

Musicians of note who have been deported in the past:

  • Cat Stevens (deported from the USA for politics and religion)
  • Rod Stewart (deported from Spain for vagrancy)
  • George Harrison (deported from Germany for being underage)
  • Paul McCartney and Pete Best (deported from Germany for setting fire to condoms)

Dear America: Please do not give the boy Bieber a medal of great notoriety or distinguish his name amongst the likes of Cat Stevens, Rod Stewart, George Harrison and Paul McCartney. Sure, punish the Biebs for his crimes but don’t put him on the Wiki list of “people of notoriety who have been deported from the USA,” not yet. Between Mayor Ford and Justin Bieber, Canada can’t take all the international media exposure. It’s going to Canadians’ heads and their badass sense of importance. Sales of gangsta hats are overtaking John Deere hats in farm communities. And crack pipes are surpassing milk sales at convenience stores.

Kimberley Lovato, American author, posted on my Facebook wall that her Canadian husband suggests “Biebs go ‘intern’ for Rob Ford for six months.” That might be better than Biebs going home to his racist mommy. After Justin was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun (his Jewish manager), Justin’s mother prayed, “God, you don’t want this Jewish kid to be Justin’s man, do you?” And she prayed with her church elders, “God, I gave him to you. You could send me a Christian man, a Christian label!”

I surveyed my Facebook friends and the majority of my American friends think the petition is a ridiculous waste of the government’s time when there are important issues to be dealt with and some commenters called for Senator Ted Cruz to be deported instead.

A friend in the Canadian government likened the petition to “mob justice.” And book reviewer and tech writer Sandra Polifroni responded, “Mob justice never works unless you have torches, pitchforks, and baseball bats with spikes — maybe also Mel Gibson leading the way.”

Chris Hearn, a Canadian concert and music reviewer said, “People have little tolerance for a rich kid who thinks the rules don’t apply to him. But, there is no shortage of people who hate his music. To say that doesn’t play a role, I think, would be wrong. Like many people, especially young people, when they get to a certain level of success, they go from being the underdog to being the person to be brought down.”

Justin Bieber is another child star having difficulty making the transition to adulthood. He still looks packaged to appeal to tweenies and at a point, that becomes inappropriate. It makes me think of when Annette Funicello’s tits got too big for the Mouseketeer clubhouse. Child stars need to be allowed to become adults and they should be encouraged to evolve. Parents who signed that petition because they think Justin Beiber is a bad influence on their little girls should know that the real influence on their children is them, not a pop idol in silly baggy leather shorts or choo-choo train pants. And as far as pop idols and bad deeds go, puh-lease — the Bieber is still Mickey Mouse club comparatively. However, Rob Ford, he’s “bad to the bone.”
