TRUMP BIRD FLIPPER, JULI BRISKMAN, WINS LOCAL ELECTION IN VIRGINIA
So you might remember the name, Juli Briskman. But even if you don’t, you remember the woman cyclist who flipped the bird to Trump’s motorcade as it drove past her in October, 2017. Juli posted a photo of that moment on Twitter and her Facebook page. But then it went viral and she lost her job as a marketing executive at Akima LLC. Akima, of course, has government contracts. But she sued and obviously won a severance package. And now? Now we have news that Juli Briskman, Trump bird flipper, ran for local office in the state of Virginia and won.
BIRD FLIPPING BRISKMAN IS NOW THE SUPERVISOR OF ALGONKIAN DISTRICT, LOUDOUN COUNTY
So what office will she hold shortly? Supervisor for the Algonkian District in Loudoun County, Virginia. Her campaign announcement included, “You might know me as the woman who was fired for flipping off the Presidential motorcade. And while it may be the most public display of my political opinion and activism, I have been deeply involved in the Loudoun County community for nearly 20 years.” Indeed. But her public image flipping off the POTUS was also a part of her campaign! So one flip of the bird has now also helped to flip an 8-year Republican incumbent out of office. But this goes hand in hand with Virginia going all Democratic for the first time in a generation.
BIRD FLIPPER VICTORY COULD BE REAL SIGN OF WHIRLWIND TO COME FOR TRUMP, REPUBLICANS
But Juli Briskman’s outrage hasn’t faded, by any means. Two years ago, she explained her visceral reaction on the road stemming from her anger at Trump’s positions on gun control, health care and his offensive support of white supremacists in Charlottesville. But this news comes at a time when all of the Republican leadership maintains support for Donald Trump, even as his impeachment proceedings….. proceed. But if Tuesday’s election news are a weathervane pointing to the whirlwind to come, all of that Republican support may also be in the wind.
A bird in the hand is still worth two in the Bush, or the Trump.
