JUDGE IN BRAZIL NAILS IDENTICAL TWINS FOR CHILD SUPPORT
Wtf? Thank God this wasn’t in the United States. But why? Because here this silliness would have been on Judge Judy or the like. But it is quite the story, even if it’s totally, absolutely ridiculous. So what’s the issue? (Heh, issue) The issue is that there are two identical twin brothers in Brazil, Fernando and Fabrício. And no, we don’t know if those are their real names. The judge kept that private. But the details are now anything but private. One of the two men fathered a child, a daughter, to be specific. That’s not anything out of the ordinary. But what is unusual is that the judge ordered both men to pay child support to the little girl. But why?

Because they’re both assholes, is why. So sure, only one of them is the actual father. But they both came back as a total match in a paternity test. But why call them assholes? Well, these two decided to close ranks and refuse to say who fathered the little girl. Why? They thought they could game the system and the actual daddy wouldn’t have to pay child support, or child maintenance. But that didn’t work out so well with Judge Filipe Luís Peruca. Peruca ruled that both men will have to pay child support for the girl. That means this child will get double the normal amount. But that’s because her daddy and uncle are asshole deadbeats.

So Judge Peruca said that the twins were stripping their daughter/niece of her basic right of knowing who her father was. But he also decreed that both of their names will appear on the girl’s birth certificate. So how much is child maintenance in Brazil? It’s 30% of the lowest salary in Brazil. That translates into $60 a month, twice over. Peruca said, “One of them is acting in bad faith in order to hide the fact that he is the father. Such vile behaviour cannot be tolerated by the law.” But then Peruca went in on the two. He said they impersonated each other to get to have sex with as many women as possible. But I suppose if that’s true, the identical twins may not actually know who the father really is.
