KAREEM ABDUL JABBAR TO RELEASE SPECIAL JABBAR LO SNEAKER, HONORING BRUCE LEE
I never, ever thought that I would write anything (in public, anyway) about an awesome shoe. But this may be the best sneaker ever. I mean, it is a now historic intersection of sports, martial arts, film noir, and two amazing stars. It alludes not only to how amazing yesteryear was, but a host of what-could-have-beens. The latter, of course, being how one of these iconic stars died years ago, far too young. And we’re talking about a sneaker! As you may already have strong suspicions from the picture, this Adidas signature shoe the Jabbar Lo is coming out from Kareem Abdul Jabbar, honoring his martial arts teacher and friend Bruce Lee, as well as co-star in the classic movie, Game of Death.

FOR SPORTS, MOVIES AND MARTIAL ARTS FANS, THE BRUCE LEE JABBAR LO IS MORE THAN PERFECT
So why would anyone want to go buy this shoe, a “mere” sneaker? Sure, it’s not at all standard street bling with a long line of trendy tools looking to unload some disposable income. That’s like buying a contemporary Porsche 911. The Jabbar Lo is more like buying a Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive model. And yes, if you bought the Jabbar Lo and that exclusive car, the colors would match perfectly. And while the Turbo has some history and is a limited edition, Kareem’s shoes are much more unique, and actually acquirable.

THE BRUCE LEE JABBAR LO SEEMS SET TO RELEASE IN THE LAST WEEK OF NOVEMBER
The movie Game of Death came out in 1978, which now seems forever ago. These special Jabbar Lo sneakers come in the color that match Bruce Lee’s character’s iconic jumpsuit, which he wore in the scene where he fought Kareem’s character. The sneakers come in that special yellow upper hairy suede, with black accents on the tongue and the three Adidas stripes on the side. These sneakers are tight. The only problem is that for now they remain just a tease. The release date is still a mystery. But Bruce Lee fans will already know that what would have been his 85th birthday is November 27th, 2025. If you love these sneakers as much as I do, you might want to pencil a reminder in your calendar, maybe two weeks before. One site says the release will be on November 30th, and a pair will cost $110.
And for film and sports buffs with disposable income, you might want to buy a certain car for delivery on the same schedule….
