HOW TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR MONEY ON SHOES

The temptation to spend too much money on shoes is real, so here’s several things you can do instead.  I love shoes. It’s a fact that I struggled with for a while, but eventually I learned to truly love me for myself, and I’m a shoe lover. They cost a pretty penny, and I don’t always have a checking account full of pennies, beautiful or not. I’ve found several things that one can do instead of shopping on a discount website, saving yourself money while expanding your horizons in the process.  It is possible to change and avoid spending all your money on shoes!

SHOP FOR SHIRTS INSTEAD

Yes, shirts are still a consumer item that costs cold hard cash, but they don’t cost nearly as much as shoes do (usually). My go-to move is to go to a standard shopping website and just browse whatever new shirts they have. Then I type in a shirt style that I’m really into. Once I peruse the listings shown, I remember that these shirts REALLY remind me of a pair of shoes I love. Wait! That’s wrong! Ok, let’s try number 2.

CALL A FRIEND BEFORE YOU SHOP

What? Call? It’s crazy, but it IS a fun thing to do! Just chat up a friend, and reminisce over all of the things you love doing together. Going out to bars, seeing concerts, and shopping for shoes. Yes, this is getting dangerously close to more shoe-shopping, but it isn’t quite the same thing, so you’re safe! Next, meet up with that friend to do an activity you both enjoy. For example, shoe shopping- oh no.

OR JUST GO ON AND BUY YOURSELF SOME MORE SHOES

Give up. You’re just going to return something else you buy to be able to afford shoes, so just go buy some. It’s not that bad a thing to do, anyway. It increases your own confidence, and can be the source of conversation with a stranger.

There you have it! It’s impossible to not shop for shoes. You love doing it, so you should probably just avoid fighting the impulse to go after what you love. It’s not so bad, really.
