HOTELS VS. AIRBNBS, WHICH IS BETTER FOR YOU TO USE?
There are really only two ways to find places to stay on vacation, and one is old and stupid and the other is cool and new. You’ve got hotels and you’ve now also got AirBnBs. So which is better? I never liked hotels. They were always so sterile and lacking in personality. I slept poorly because I felt like I was on a spaceship or in some fancy concrete box. It never felt right and I always kind of hated it. I missed the comfort of home and never really enjoyed vacations.

AIRBNBS CHANGED THE GAME ACROSS THE WORLD
Then AirBnB came along and my life changed forever. I loved traveling because I could stay in locals’ apartments. I saw real neighborhoods, used foreign toilets, saw how they lived and what locks they put on their doors. So I felt closer to the place I was visiting and always felt very fulfilled. Now I never stay in hotels. I always book AirBnBs. My parents, on the other hand, stay exclusively in hotels. They want the maids to change the sheets every day and clean up for them. And they want the extra services and the gym. They want to feel fancy and taken care of, and I get it. It’s nice to feel that way. But what are your priorities then?

SOME LOVE ALL THE HOTEL AMENITIES AND ONLINE MARKETING
What do you really care about when you’re traveling? Staying somewhere that looks just like a room in America, or experiencing something new and exciting? To me, the answer is obvious. But they recently came and dropped me off at a hotel I was forced to stay in (by work) and they couldn’t wait to come upstairs and “see it.” They don’t trust the photos online and wanted to make sure it was actually a nice place, so they came up with me and all my luggage and proceeded to inspect every corner of the room.
They oohed and aahed and left happy. At least that made one of us.
