FIONA THE HIPPO WAS TEENY WHEN SHE WAS BORN AND HAS SURVIVED THE YEAR!
Baby Hippos are big, even though they are babies. Fiona the Hippo was wee when she was born, weighing only twenty-nine pounds. On average, hippos weigh between fifty-five to one hundred and twenty pounds when they are born. She was the first Nile hippo born at the Cincinnati Zoo in seventy-five years. She was due in March of last year but was born in January. Her zookeeper knew they had a fighter. And the zoo posted her progress on Social Media, which helped win the hearts of many. We celebrated the hippest hippo Fiona’s birthday recently and it was a bash! She ate cake and everyone sang and cheered for her. It’s a happy day for our happiest hippest hippo, Fiona!
HER ROUND-THE-CLOCK TEAM HELPED HER THROUGH THE TOUGH TIMES
When Fiona the Hippo was born, she couldn’t do much and had a round-the-clock care team, known as Team Fiona. She’s become very popular and even has her own ice cream flavor. Graeter’s ice cream have named an ice cream after her, called “Chunky chunky Hippo”. It’s a limited flavor, so please get out there and grab some if you live in Ohio.

THE HIPPEST HIPPO HAS GROWN A LOT
After a year, the pretty little (not so little) hippest hippo is doing amazing and everyone is so proud of her. She is eating well and continues to gain weight and grow. The Fiona Show aired on Facebook recently, showing her contentment with her watermelon and pineapple cake. You can watch her chomp down on her special cake on her Facebook page. It’s a clip of about fifteen minutes of the sweet hippo eating. Her Mom, Bibi, also helped Fiona eat her cake.
