BODY SHAMERS ARE MORONS WHO SHOULD KEEP QUIET
Body shamers are stupid. They sound stupid. But they do cause damage to good people. They do what they do and try to make a person feel bad. But in this case, it was aimed at the gorgeous Gigi Hadid. But she didn’t like it and so Hadid smashed back with a diplomatic and transparent explanation. She has been battling a condition called Hashimoto’s disease. It’s an autoimmune condition in which the body is attacking the thyroid gland. She’s got it for life because it is incurable, with a host of unpleasant symptoms. But she’s not ashamed.
GIGI MADE THEM ASHAMED OF THEIR STUPIDITY
People are mean, especially if they are hiding behind a computer. That’s a big problem and unfortunately, we need to deal with stupidity like body shamers degrading others. Back in 2015, many critics labeled Gigi as too curvy or chunky for the runway. And now they are saying she is too skinny. What they heck do people want? But it’s easy to sit in the peanut gallery when no one can see who you are.

HADID SMASHED THEM GOOD
Gigi swiftly responded on social media explaining that her body has changed since she was seventeen. She also explained that she suffers from Hashimoto’s disease. She chose to make this a teachable moment and shamed the body shamers. She smashed her explanation out of the park, telling these jerks, “Over the last few years I’ve been properly medicated to help symptoms including those, as well as extreme fatigue, metabolism issues, body’s ability to retain heat, etc.” Hopefully, the body shamers are ashamed. Some critics accused her of starving herself and even taking drugs to stay thin.
LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE
This isn’t the first time that Gigi has revealed that she has Hashimoto’s disease. But this time she needed to smash it home. She shared the news in a panel discussion for Reebok’s Perfect Never campaign. She explained that she takes medication for this thyroid disease. Many other celebrities have this disease, including Kim Cattrall, Gina Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana.
