Good Cop, Bad Cop! Or, Good Cop. In the Detroit Police, Who Knows

DETROIT POLICE, TWO PRECINCTS FIGHTING

The Detroit Police is made up of twelve precincts.  And none have been more embarrassed before a recent altercation…between two of these precincts.  Is this a story about the good guys fighting the bad guys?  Or the good guys fighting…the good guys?  Unfortunately, it’s the latter. Good Cop, Bad Cop, Who knows?

DRUGS AND VIOLENCE

An internal investigation is in the works by the Detroit Police Department about two precincts involved in a turf war in the east side neighborhood of Andover.  This area is well known for drug activity and violence. Detroit police were attempting to make an effort to impact change in an area that has been struggling hard. In this case, focus and determination equals failure and not change. Because a brawl between two cops may only add to the many concerns in the neighborhood.  But not actually work towards stopping the drug problems.

PUSH OFF OR PUSH OVER?

Sources explain that it began when two of the special operations officers from the twelfth Precinct were undercover while operating a “push off” near Seven Mile on Andover.  This means they were pretending to be drug dealers, waiting for willing customers and arresting potential buyers and confiscating their vehicles.

COP COMEDY TURNED TRAGEDY

But instead of customers, special operation officers from the eleventh Precinct showed up. The eleventh Precinct cops didn’t realize the twelfth Precinct cops were colleague officers, so they ordered the other undercover officers to the ground. This sounds more like a scene from a cop comedy, turned tragedy. The rest of the special operation teams from the twelfth Precinct arrived, and officers began a raid in a drug house in the Andover block.

GUNS DRAWN, PUNCHES THROWN, GOOD COP, BAD COP

Sadly, instead of fighting crime, officers from both precincts began fighting with each other.  Guns were drawn and punches were thrown while neighboring civilians watched.  It got so bad that an officer was taken to the hospital.  It looks like they need to work on this gap in communication. Good cop or bad cop, you make the choice.
