Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Dying Wish Was A New President to Replace Her

RUTH BADER GINSBURG HAS DIED, AND HER DYING WISH IS FOR ANYONE BUT TRUMP TO REPLACE HER

So Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died.  The 87-year-old US Supreme Court Justice held onto life as long as she could.  But finally succumbed to pancreatic cancer on the eve of Rosh Hashanah.  In the Jewish tradition, one who dies on the High Holiday is considered a “Tzadik.”  That is a title they give to those they consider to be righteous.  And even though I’m not Jewish, I heartily agree.  But Ginsburg wanted to live just a bit longer, to ensure that Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell could not replace her on the bench.  It was her dying wish that a new president would have the opportunity, and the duty, to do so.

WITH GINSBURG GONE, HER LEGACY WILL TAKE TIME TO FULLY REALIZE IN TODAY’S WHIRLWIND

But to the dismay of many, that opportunity is now a huge chess piece caught in today’s political whirlwind.  And a whirlwind it is.  With Trump as president, McConnell has been able to push thru more than 200 lifetime appointments onto federal benches.  And if you are not an ardent Republican, with all that means today, this is a huge threat.  But a US Supreme Court seat?  That is even more disturbing, especially with the still unfathomable loss of Ginsburg.  She was such a presence, that her absence will take quite some time to process.  Unfortunately, we simply won’t have the time as McConnell’s rush to replace her has be dealt with first and foremost.

MITCH MCCONNELL AGAIN INSTANTLY PROVES HIS HYPOCRISY AS HE SIGNALS REPLACING GINSBURG IMMEDIATELY

McConnell instantly signaled he would present a nominee to replace Ginsburg upon news of her death.  It took less than a split second for him to completely make himself the pinup poster boy for hypocrisy.  When Obama was president, he had the opportunity to replace Scalia in February of that last year of his presidency.  But McConnell said Americans should be part of that choice, with their next president.  And now, with only weeks until the election, McConnell’s scruples (not that he had any) have disappeared into the flagrant fog of opportunity.  So it’s worth honoring the heights of Ginsburg’s legacy.  But even more so her dying wish that any other president but Trump be the one to replace her.

We can only pray that enough Republican senators feel insecure enough about their own legacies enough to honor her dying wish.  Because the years to come are ours.  And Trump only represents himself, an effigy the horror of which it will take decades to process.  So goodbye Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  We can’t honor you enough.
