QUIT SMOKING, HEAL YOUR TARRED LUNGS, EAT RESTORATIVE FOODS
Did you make a few resolutions this year? Perhaps a really big one, like losing the last five pounds, paying your bills on time or to quit smoking? Well, researchers at John Hopkins have concluded that if you are an ex-smoker, it’s important to eat three portions of fresh fruit every day. Tomatoes and apples are particularly recommended. It has something to do with these fruits containing seeds. But you should also consider fruits and vegetables with or without seeds, such as cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, and apples. All fruits in general were noted to aid ling health. But fruit in general also helps restore tarred lungs.
EATING FRESH FRUIT HELPS RESTORE TARRED LUNGS, GIVES LONGER LIFE
Researchers began their study back in 2002. They looked at the diets and lung health of six hundred and fifty adults. They reassessed the same people ten years later and found that the participants’ lungs stayed healthier if they ate more than two tomatoes or at least three portions of fresh fruit daily. Those who ate less than the above-mentioned fruits weren’t as lung healthy. This pertained particularly to ex-smokers and indicated that diet can have a positive impact helping to restore lung health. We can easily carry this over to other health issues and note that changing our diet to be rich in fresh fruits and veggies is only a benefit.
