COFFEE LOVERS NEED A PICK ME UP IN THE SUMMER AFTERNOONS, AND SANGRIA IS PERFECT

So if you love coffee, you already have a French Press without a doubt.  But besides making your morning’s approach to every day, it has another fantastic use: Sangria!  Quite frankly, it’s a fantastic idea.  So where did it come from?  Her name is Jasmine Jernberg, a bartender at the Blue Bohème in San Diego.  She uses the French Press to make this lovely libation for guests there.  And if you want to make this a social, this cocktail serves 7 drinks at a time.  That’s what you call sublime Summer practice!

MAKING SANGRIA WITH YOUR FRENCH PRESS IS WAY EASIER THAN PIE, AND MORE REFRESHING

So to make this Sangria, you need 2 cups of white wine, 2 cups of a fruity red, ¼ cup of light rum, ¼ cup of cognac, ¼ cup of Grand Marnier, ¼ cup of agave syrup, ¼ cup of raspberry puree, one orange in slices, thin slices of one lemon and as garnish an orange slice and a basil sprig.  So for this Sangria, you combine all the booze with the agave syrup and the puree.  Then, you simply layer the slices of orange, lime and lemon along the bottom of the French Press.  Then, pour the booze from the bowl and press down slowly to make each Sangria.

And at the end, simply pour each serving onto ice in a wine glass and garnish with the orange slice and basil sprig!  Enjoy…. Because I’m going to!
