Fox News Bans Anti-Nazi Documentary Ad Why

WHY EVER WOULD FOX NEWS REFUSE AN ANTI-NAZI DOCUMENTARY AD?

So here we go again.  We have to talk about Fox News and Nazis.  Why?  Because there’s this documentary, A Night at the Garden.  It’s an anti-Nazi piece that hopes to show people how thousands of American Nazis had a rally on February 20th, 1939, in New York’s Madison Square Garden.  No, that really happened, where the Knicks and Rangers play every single home game.  The documentary is only 7 minutes long.  But the ad was even shorter, 30 seconds in total and titled, “It Can Happen Here.”  So who bans an ad like this?  Fox News.

FOX NEWS CEO MADE THE CALL TO “PROTECT” US FROM NAZI IMAGERY

But it’s even more awkward than that.  It was Fox News own CEO who made sure the ad didn’t run.  They said that the ad was “not appropriate for our air.”  So what’s that about?  A lot.  But don’t you ask direct questions!  “It Can Happen Here” was supposed to run earlier that week in one of the Sean Hannity Show ad spots.  It came thru a local advertising buy on Charter Communications Spectrum service in LA.  But it didn’t run because of breaking news where Fox showed coverage of President Trump’s Texas rally instead.  You know, where a Trump fan attacked media?

FOX NEWS ACTUALLY HAS GUIDELINES, FAUX NEWS GUIDELINES?

So the documentary’s distributor, Field of Vision, decided to aim at a larger commercial audience.  That means they tried to purchase a national commercial spot on the Sean Hannity show.  But that’s when the Fox News CEO stepped in to prevent it.  Local commercial buys aren’t handled by the network itself.  But national spots are.  Marianne Gambelli is the president of ad sales for Fox News.  She explained, “The ad in question is full of disgraceful Nazi imagery regardless of the film’s message and did not meet our guidelines.”  Get it?  They’re protecting us from Nazi imagery.

But not to worry.  A Night at the Garden has been nominated for an Academy Award.  I’m pretty sure Fox doesn’t broadcast the awards…..
