Fed Judge Boots Trump Keystone XL Permit Inconvenient Facts

ALL TRUMP TOUCHES IS TAINTED, AS FED JUDGE BOOTS HIS PRESIDENTIAL PERMIT

Fake ruling?  Leave it to Trump to screw up the Keystone XL Pipeline where so many have tried and failed to succeed before.  And yes, there’s some slippery logic left messy in that statement.  A federal judge just vacated Trump’s presidential permit from 2017.  So what was the judge’s rationale, you ask?  Well, evidently the permit completely disregarded what the judge termed, “inconvenient facts.”  But yes, it is as bad as you would assume.  When a fed judge boots a Presidential permit, there’s got to be good reason.  The pipeline’s impact on the climate was also, completely, disregarded.  All that Trump touches seems to catch his amoral plague.  But it does seem fitting that this happens the first week we will look back on as the realization of Trump’s fall.

KEYSTONE XL PRESIDENTIAL PERMIT DEVOID OF LONG LIST OF INCONVENIENT FACTS

Regardless, for those who have followed the pipeline’s history, there are a lot of inconvenient facts.  Just 3 years ago, then President Obama rejected the pipeline when environmentalists and a host of indigenous people raised strong objection to it.  The pipeline was (is?) to have been 1,179 miles long.  It was to begin in Alberta, Canada’s tar sands and extend thru to the state of Nebraska.  The pipeline carrying the crudest of crude was (is?) a threat to countless waterways and historic, tribal lands.  Pipeline supporters suggesting the threat doesn’t exist or is only slight at best were silenced last November.

What happened last November?  So, one year ago this month the Keystone XL Pipeline’s sister pipeline, the Keystone, leaked over 400,000 gallons of oil across South Dakota lands.  Proponents of that pipeline were also certain that the risks of such disaster were minimal.  But now that US District Court Judge Brian Morris has vacated Trump’s inconvenient facts permit, maybe some more sanity can be found moving forward.  And as for the indigenous people who brought this to the court’s attention, they are celebrating.  But they won’t let their guard down.  They know all about inconvenient facts.

Inconvenient facts defines all their history in the US.  This time, they know what to do.
