Farting at You is Not Bullying, Says Australia Court

Farting at You is Not Bullying Says Australia Court

CAN YOU BULLY SOMEONE WITH FARTS? AN AUSTRALIA COURT SAYS NOPE, NOTHING BUT HOT AIR

So do you remember that time that someone was farting in your general direction?  It really sucked.  But it was totally bullying, right?  Well, no.  You don’t remember that.  Because while someone may have been farting in your general direction, it was definitely NOT bullying.  But somehow, this was not apparent, in a legal sense, in Australia.  Well, till now, anyway.  No, really.  An appeals court (it went to an appeals court!) in Australia just dismissed a case of alleged farting as bullying.  An engineer had accused his now former supervisor of bullying by farting.

COURT STAYS UPWIND, UPHOLDS OTHER RULING, BUR PLAINTIFF SAYS IT STINKS

So I’m not sure why it took so long for us to get wind of this.  But maybe we did, and just thought it was Florida’s kind of hot air news.  But anyways, the engineer who was downwind in a victim kind of way was one David Hingst.  The Victoria state Court of Appeal upheld a previous Supreme Court judge’s ruling.  So what that means is that even if it were true that the supervisor was farting at Hingst, it couldn’t have been bullying.  But Hingst still isn’t satisfied and wants the air cleared.  So he’ll take his case all the way to the High Court.  That’s the top court Down Under.

But Hingst isn’t making a casual stink out of his case.  He’s suing for $1.3 USD for his blighted plight.  He says he had moved out of a communal office space to get away from his supervisor’s farting.  The farting man is one Greg Short.  So then Short would go to Hingst’s office, which had no windows, every day several times and…. would fart.  Hingst would literally spray Short with deodorant and renamed him “Mr. Stinky” at work.  So we can all just be grateful that he didn’t call him “My Stinky.”  That would have been putting on airs
