The funniest insult by far that comes out of the compendium of the Vulgar Tongue is ‘death’s head upon a mop-stick’ which is essentially a skinny man who looks like he hasn’t eaten in a while. Can you visualize it? It’s very similar to a ‘duke of limbs’; also easy to visualize. A ‘lobcock’ is a large and relaxed penis or a boring man. Mix that with a ‘shabbaroon’, which is a badly dressed man or a mean person, and you have quite the vulgar insult! One very similar meaning word found in this book is ‘tatterdemallion.’ Try saying that five times fast!
