English, Welsh Finally to Outlaw Upskirting

ENGLISH AND WELSH TO FINALLY PROTEST WOMEN FROM UPSKIRTING PICS

Why, hello there England and Wales!  So you finally got to the party!  You know, the one a woman, Gina Martin, invited you to over 18 months ago?  But sure, you know all about it!  But not everyone else does, yet.  Martin started a viral online campaign to prevent all pervs from taking invasive photos.  And by invasive, I mean up your skirt and hoo-hah click-athon.  So finally, the English and Welsh ladies will have some protection.  But protection that will work, hopefully better, than Sean Penn’s hands…. up every… well, maybe never mind that.  So anyway, upskirting is now an outlaw activity.

ONE VICTIM DECIDED TO FIGHT, FORCE POLITICIANS TO ACT WITH VIRAL CAMPAIGN

At last the British Parliament’s House of Lords passed legislation that makes taking a photo up any woman’s skirt an offense that can get the offender up to two years in the clink.  So why did this finally happen?  Because Martin was a victim and decided to do something about it.  She told BBC, “Eighteen months ago I was upskirted at a music festival and I decided I wasn’t going to brush it off.”  She was at a concert for the band, the Killers, in London and thought she was having a good time.  But while she was there, a man took a picture up her skirt, or an upskirt photo.

But when Martin told police, they did nothing.  Why?  Because there was no law against it!  So Martin took action.  She continued, “I felt this was wrong and I was astounded to learn that upskirting wasn’t a sexual offense.  I wanted to change this for everyone, because the least we deserve is to be able to wear what we want without non-consensual photos being taken of us.”  So she posted her experience on Facebook and the story quickly went viral.  50,000 people signed a petition to reopen her case.  And now if anyone upskirts a woman, they will pay a hefty price.

Upskirting has been illegal in Scotland for years now.  But come on, even men wear skirts there!  Yet all kidding aside, many US states have no protections for their women still as well.
