JURY CONVICTS EL PASO COP OF RAPE, GIVES HIM NO JAIL TIME, NONE AT ALL
So his name is William Ollie Alexander. And yes, that is another serial killer or presidential assassin’s name. Alexander raped a woman. He’s a rapist. But even worse? He’s a El Paso cop! He raped a woman while he was a cop! And even worse than that? He raped a woman he met while he was on duty! Alexander was a member of the El Paso Police Department. A jury convicted him of rape. It’s more than enough to make you sick. But by far the worst thing in this story is that we now know that this rape convict will get no jail time. At all. And this is not even slightly a joke.
HIS VICTIM TESTIFIED ABOUT TRAUMA, HORROR, AND JURY GAVE HIM NO JAIL TIME
So sure, the jury did find him guilty of raping a woman. The woman (victim) testified against him. She told the courtroom how this horror had and continues to have a huge, negative impact on her life. She also explained how this rape will forever continue to haunt her. And that she will never be the same woman again. Ever. But did the El Paso cop rapist get any jail time? No. But why? Well, because there was some other drama. Like how Alexander broke into tears when his children entered the courtroom. But there’s obviously more to it than that.
DEFENSE TOLD JURY THAT JAIL TIME WAS A DEATH SENTENCE FOR COP RAPIST, THEY LISTENED
So while the jury found him guilty of rape, they only sentenced him to 10 years of probation. Seriously. This means that Alexander will server a total of no, zero, nada days in jail. This El Paso cop responded to a domestic violence call. He dropped his victim off at a friend’s house. Then he texted her a few times. So then he left the job early, picked her up, took her to a dark area. But then he raped her! And he will get no jail time. Prosecutors obviously asked for, um, jail time. 15 years, in fact. But the defense convinced the jury that jail time would mean a death sentence for a cop rapist.
So that’s it. The whole reasoning. He pays a 10 grand fine and has to be a registered sex offender. Guilty. But no justice.
