PINEAPPLE! IT’S THE FRUIT EVERYONE SHOULD EAT, LITERALLY EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK
So there are a bunch of foods out there that are simply super for you. And no, I’m not talking about the erstwhile super foods. Others! And today, we’re gonna talk about the amazing pineapple. It’s da damn bomb. It’s so good for you, it’s going to be hard to lay it all out here for a fast read. But here goes! Pineapple is a great fruit. It’s totally refreshing and tastes really amazing. Shoot, people even eat it on pizza! It’s 87% water, which is pretty darn succulent. So it’s a great source of hydration on really hot days. But it does so, so much more than that.
HIGH BLOOD CHOLESTEROL, CANCER, AND IMMUNE SYSTEL? PINEAPPLE HELPS WITH THOSE
So to start, let’s talk about the heart. A study of late found that rats eating pineapple every day had extra protection against high blood cholesterol. Considering all the fast food out there we eat every day, that’s a win-win. Maybe have some of this fruit after you have that burger? The next I’ve known about for a while, the lower risk of cancer! But how? Well, because it has phenolic acid, flavonoids as well as vitamin C. Those are some strong antioxidants. Next up? How about a stronger immune system? Again, that’s because of the vitamin C.
PINEAPPLE HAS BROMELAIN, MORE VITAMIN C FOR YOUR BRAIN, SKIN AND ARTHRITIS!
But what about your brain? Shouldn’t that be healthy, too? Here, it’s the bromelain in pineapple. It’s not clear yet, but it just might break down the damn molecules related to Alzheimer’s disease. And if you can remember this one, this watery fruit can also help protect your skin from the sun. So again, vitamin C! And for any of the older folks, or those with serious joint injury history, pineapples also help with arthritis symptoms. That vitamin C is all over this page! Not sold yet on this amazing fruit? I’ve got two more reasons to share as to why you should add this to your diet.
HOW ABOUT A PINEAPPLE MARGARITA? IT’S A SOLID POST WORKOUT DRINK, HERE’S WHY
Your gut. Here, we’re back to the bromelain I mentioned above. It helps fight loose bowels and keeps your stomach healthier. Of course, if you have acid reflux, you will want to be moderate, as pineapples are somewhat acidic. And last but not least, our last mention of the vitamin C in pineapples. After a workout, a quick does of this fruit will help you recover from any inflammation you earned. So if you haven’t been sold yet, I don’t know what else to say. Maybe try a pineapple margarita? It’s a solid compromise. Damn, I want one now.
