Dead Humpback Whale Carcass Appears Inside Amazon Jungle

MYSTERY AS WHALE CARCASS APPEARS IN AMAZON JUNGLE

We all have a whale of a time figuring out strange things from time to time.  But researchers are especially challenged after someone found a dead humpback whale carcass 50 feet from shore inside the Amazon jungle itself.  It’s not like these guys can crawl or anything.  They can’t even roll over on land.  The whale carcass, possibly a calf, appeared on the Brazilian island of Mafajo.  No one has any idea how it got off the shoreline, never mind 50 feet from the waterline inside the jungle itself.  It makes no sense.  But it does make a great mystery.

WHALE APPEARED IN MANGROVE SWAMP, MORE THAN 50 FEET FROM THE OCEAN

The Brazilian spokeswoman for their Department of Health, Sanitation and Environment is Darlene Silva.  She told reporters how the corpse appeared in a mangrove swamp.  Researchers made the find after they saw quite the number of vultures circling overhead in the sky.  According to biologists from the Bicho D’agua Institute, the whale was roughly 26 feet long.  But oddly, locals said that it was more like 36 feet long.  Regardless, how did this whale get from the shore to the jungle?

DID A STORM REALLY PUSH THIS GIANT CREATURE INTO THE JUNGLE? WAS THERE EVEN A STORM?

So specialists from the Municipal Secretariat of Health, Sanitation and Environment reported that the whale had no evident injury.  But they suspect the whale died when it was still in the ocean.  So how did it go from the shoreline into the jungle itself?  So far, the Institute’s people think that the only explanation is that a storm carried it into the jungle.  But to make matters more interesting, it’s strange even having a humpback whale off the Brazilian coast in February at all.  They are also almost never seen that far north.

But there the whale will remain to rot away in the wild.  The location is remote and there’s no way to even get a bulldozer there thru the swamp.  But I, for one, would like to know what storm pushed that whale into the jungle.  The officials didn’t say there had been one in that time frame….
