Dangerously Smart Car Thief Changed Gears, Dog Steering and Driving

GERMAN SHEPHERD STEALS OWNER’S CAR, HAS ACCIDENT

Murrysville, Pennsylvania is the home to a dangerously smart dog, Sammie.  Sammie is owned by Kathy Lowry.  Recently, Kathy pulled in front of a local business and went inside, leaving Sammie alone in the running car.  Normally, any dog owner wouldn’t think twice about that.  Kathy grabbed the things she needed, paid and went back outside.  But her car was gone!  Has anyone ever seen a dog steering a car?  Has your dog ever changed gears in a car?

WITNESSES SAW DOG STEERING CAR TO HIGHWAY

“I looked outside and my car was not there” she said. “I freaked out.”  Her car disappeared and so did her “fur baby” Sammie.  Kathy panicked for a moment or two when another patron came in and told her where her car was.  He told her he saw her car leaving the lot and that her German Shepherd was driving.  He saw the dog steering the car, and called police.  “I have never saw anything like it” Dale Planman said. “I am not sure how he got the car into gear or how he was steering.”

DANGEROUSLY SMART DOG CHANGED GEARS, DROVE AWAY

Police later explained how Sammie the German Shepherd was able to drive the car away.  Yet the car was parked on an incline.  That means all Sammie had to do was get the car into gear.  Clearly, Sammie changed gears, the incline and gravity got the car moving.  But everyone is amazed and disturbed because they saw the dog steering the car.  “How the dog knew how to steer the car is beyond what any of us can explain” said Police officer Richard Frey.  “These days, nothing seems to be unusual. Maybe he learned online” he joked.

BYSTANDERS SHOCKED TO SEE DOG DRIVING

Kathy says that her dangerously smart Sammie is no stranger to bad behavior.  Sammie ate a door.  Finally, Sammie stole a car and wrecked it.  Sammie is the most expensive dog Kathy has ever owned.  But she still loves him!  Fortunately, the 2014 Dodge Dart didn’t have too much damage after Sammie the German Shepherd drove it in front of another car.  “It happened so fast, I did not even know it was a dog,” said Dave Winters of Plum.  Winters is the man who had a car accident with a dog driver.  Sammie and Winters were both fine after the collision.

CAR PINCHING POOCH IN TIMEOUT

But Kathy’s car will need some repairs.  Kathy says, “He is going to be in timeout for some time.”  So far, Police haven’t pressed any charges against Sammie. Bad dog.
