Daddy Dearest LaVar, Ball Family Split with UCLA Basketball

UCLA DODGES TWO BLANKS AFTER FIRING ONE BALL SHOT

The LaVar Ball soap opera keeps chugging on, starring Daddy Dearest LaVar and his unfortunate three sons, Lonzo, LaMelo and LiAngelo.  There’s never been a basketball family like the Ball family.  LaVar has created a media juggernaut that gets coverage and hype. This is entirely because LaVar can run his mouth 24/7 and talk trash that could annoy the Pope.  LaVar’s trash really stinks that much.  Now, the Ball drama continues as LaVar pulled his son LiAngelo out of UCLA and its Basketball program.

DADDY DEAREST LAVAR MAKES KOOLAID, DRINKS DEEP

Can Daddy Dearest LaVar beat Michael Jordan today 1-on-1?  Who cares?  But he sure talked about it! Are his sons good basketball players?  Yes.  At least, Lonzo seems to be.  So far, the other two are just bit players in their father’s never-ending drama scene.  But all three sons were supposed to attend a year playing basketball for UCLA.  Now, that’s over, barely into round two.  Lonzo did his one year there and landed with the Lakers via the NBA draft last year.  The youngest brother LaMelo will likely never see UCLA as a student or player.

YOUNGER TWO BALLS DEVELOPING OUT OF SCHOOL

The Ball boys dance with UCLA Basketball is officially au revoir.  LiAngelo has been pulled out of the school.  LaVar decided that LiAngelo’s suspension from his China shoplifting embarrassment was simply too long. So, he pulled him out of college to make other arrangements.  What are those arrangements?  We have no idea.  But the two younger Ball boys are now both out of school, looking for teams to practice and develop with.  Who will want to deal with the LaVar Ball drama?

UCLA BASKETBALL NOW FREE FROM BALL DRAMA

UCLA and its Basketball program should be breathing a sigh of relief getting rid of the Ball drama.  The drama is over for them, at least in regards to the Ball family.  UCLA Basketball’s profile was certainly boosted the past couple years, but what did they lose now that Lonzo is almost halfway thru his first NBA season?  Not too much.  Nobody considers LiAngelo to be an NBA prospect.  Well, except for his dad LaVar.  “He’s not on any of our scouting lists — even the extended lists,” one GM told ESPN last week.

HOW DEEP WAS BALL’S COMMITMENT?

As for the youngest Ball, LaMelo, the jury is still out.  He’s not out of high school years and will now be homeschooled and home coached by Daddy Dearest LaVar.  But LaMelo won’t be a hat-trick for UCLA, that’s now for sure.  Daddy Dearest LaVar decided to pull LiAngelo without even letting any of UCLA’s coaching staff know.  Perhaps, that’s because LiAngelo wasn’t likely to even get much playing time at UCLA.  Now, we’ll never know.  But the Daddy Dearest LaVar Ball show must go on.  Just elsewhere.  Maybe he and Donald Trump can keep tweeting at each other and leave basketball to the players and fans.
