CURSED OR LUCKY? 20-YEAR-OLD SURVIVES THREE DEADLY ANIMALS
Some days it just might be better to stay inside. Well, for some people, maybe they should never, ever, go outside. That certainly seems to be true for the maybe cursed Dylan McWilliams, a 20-year-old from Grand Junction, Colorado. After only two decades of life so far Dylan has been attacked by a rattlesnake, a bear and a shark. Seriously! Who has a hat trick of animal attacks? Dylan, that’s who. But Dylan seems to have taken it all in stride. Fortunately, he still has two legs to stride on. “I don’t blame the shark, I don’t blame the bear, and I don’t blame the rattlesnake.” But why does the animal kingdom have it in for this McWilliams? Who survives more than shark attacks? Dylan.
RATTLESNAKE BITE WHILE ON UTAH HIKE, ATTACK NUMBER ONE
This saga of Dylan’s survival started three years ago when he was hiking in Utah. That’s when a rattlesnake bit him. But getting snake bit, literally, isn’t too shocking. That could happen to anyone. Just walk by the wrong spot, fail to see an annoyed and aggressive reptile sunning itself and wham! You done been snake bit. But rattlesnakes are virtually everywhere in the continental United States. So that’s not too strange. But how about a bear attack? Those don’t happen too often. And bear attacks would be just a bit (pun intended) scarier.
CAMPING SNACK, BLACK BEAR ATTACKS, GRABS HIM BY THE HEAD
Just last year Dylan was camping in Boulder County. But that camping trip took a turn for the worse when a 300-pound black bear attacked him. And it does indeed sound scary. Big time. According to Dylan, “The bear grabbed the back of my head and started pulling me and I was fighting back as best as I could. It dropped me and stomped on me a little bit, and I was able to get back to the group and they scared it away.” That sounds pretty darn scary, right?
TIGER SHARK ATTACKS, KNOCKS HIM OFF BOOGIE BOARD, CHOMPS ON RIGHT LEG
But Dylan’s saga of animal attacks had its latest chapter just a couple weeks ago. Dylan, who seems to do lots of fun stuff, was boogie-boarding while visiting Kauai, Hawaii. It sounds like something we should all do, right? But Dylan was happily boarding on the waves when something knocked him off his board. Before Dylan knew what was happening, he felt a horrible pain in his right leg. That’s because a shark attacked him! This all happened just 30 yards from the shoreline. Dylan thinks it was a tiger shark, as big as 8 feet long. He kicked it as hard as he could and then had a scary time swimming to shore.
NEW HOBBIES MAYBE KNITTING, STAYING INSIDE AND READING, DON’T EVEN GARDEN
It certainly sounds scary! You have just been bitten by a shark. But you have no idea how bad it is. You kick the shark off of you and then swim to shore, not knowing if it’s coming back from any direction to take you under. Shark attacks are scary! But Dylan made it back to shore and his injuries were not life or limb threatening. But maybe, just maybe, the cursed Dylan should never, ever, go outside again. Get a PS4 and stay safe!
