POLICE FIND YOUNG SUCCESS STORY COLIN KROLL DEAD
This is surprising and weird news. Police found the 34-year-old Colin Kroll dead in his apartment this week. Kroll was the co-founder and CEO of the widely used game, HQ Trivia. He also co-founded the short form video appVine. Twitter now owns Vine. He was one of those success stories at a young age that are getting fewer and far between. But a definitely was a success story. But his story has come to an abrupt and unexpected end. So far, no one knows how he died or why.
POLICE RESPONDED TO KROLL’S NYC APT, FOUND HIM UNCONSCIOUS AND UNRESPONSIVE
Someone, we still don’t know who, called the NYPD early Sunday morning at 12:18 am EST. It was a 911call which prompted police to respond and conduct a wellness check at Kroll’s NYC apt. So someone clearly had a concern something was wrong. But we still have no idea what, who or why. When officers went into his apartment, they discovered a young man unconscious and unresponsive. EMS later confirmed Colin Kroll was indeed dead. AnNYPD spokesperson said they had absolutely no other information about this mystery situation. But police are still waiting to hear back from the medical examiner to learn more.
DESPITE SOME CONTROVERSY, HIS DEATH COMES AS A SHOCK TO ALL
An HQ Trivia spokesperson said in an email release, “We learned today of the passing of our friend and founder, Colin Kroll, and it’s with deep sadness that we say goodbye. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
The company had named Kroll the CEO of HQ Trivia just this year. He had previously served as the Chief Technology Officer. There were accusations he showed inappropriate behavior. But the company still managed to raise $15m despite the bad press and furor.
