SAD DAY WHEN THE CDC HAS TO WARN STORES NOT TO CONFRONT ANTI-MASKERS
So this is where we are? Well, I suppose it is. The RNC is happening right now, after all. Historians will note it as the most deceit-filled celebration ever in American politics. The Hatch Act? Forget about it. Racist? You bet. Anti-science? Well, for sure! And that very dynamic is exactly why we have anti-maskers across the country. You know, those idiots who freak out and attack people who tell them they have to wear a mask? Because they keep popping up everywhere. So much so, that the CDC has given an official warning to store and their employees. Don’t confront anti-maskers. It could be hazardous to your health.

ANTI-MASKERS SEEM TO THINK THEIR MISINFORMED RAGE IS LICENSE TO BE CRAZY AND VIOLENT
And no, this isn’t satire coming from The Onion. But I wish it were. As you know, actual scientists and doctors say you should wear a mask when you’re out in public. But most especially when you’re within 6 feet of anyone else. And when you’re inside, that means you’re sharing air. Cough. Sneeze. So retail stores have instituted a mask wearing mandate. If you want to come in, wear a mask. But anti-maskers don’t like that. In fact, they seem to revel in confrontation over their refusal. But the rules are important for us all, denial be damned.

ANTI-MASKERS HAVE ASSAULTED STAFF FOR REQUIRING A MASK, ONE INVOLVED A SHOOTING
But when the CDC has to warn stores and their employees against engaging now common psychotics, we are in uncharted territory. We’ve seen anti-maskers slap, scream abuse, even choke employees who told them to wear a mask. So the CDC says, “Don’t argue with a customer if they make threats or become violent.” Sigh. But just a few weeks ago, a man shot at a Cigar shop employee in Pennsylvania for telling him he had to wear a mask! Seriously. But just over 30 states require wearing a mask in public. Why not all? Because there’s no federal law right now requiring that. So thanks a lot for nothing, Trump. Here we all are, Eyes Wide Shut, with nary a mask in sight.
