THERE CAN’T BE ONLY ONE, AS HIGHLANDER REBOOTS WITH HENRY CAVILL AS IMMORTAL
So I saw the original Highlander movie when it hit theaters back in 1986. It was the first time I really remember seeing Christopher Lambert and Clancy Brown. As you might imagine, the movie totally rocked back in the day, especially with that amazing Queen music throughout. If you haven’t seen it, I will write this in sort of code to avoid spoilers. It may seem like whimsical nonsense. But movie was seriously fun. It still is. So I’m torn about the idea of an all-new Highlander reboot with Henry Cavill as the Connor McCloud of Clan McCloud main character. The movie taught us there can be only one. But now, that’s not true anymore!

FROM 1986, HOW WILL CAVILL HANDLE CONNOR MCCLOUD IN THE NEXT MILLENNIUM?
So sure, they made sequels to Highlander that I’d still like to forget. Even Sean Connery reprised his Spaniard’s character. But I still want to forget them. And yes, there was a TV show on for many years as well, starring a different highlander sword fighting immortal in the same story line. Side note: the tv show is fun, but campy in a way that some under 40 today just won’t enjoy. Waaay before cell phones. And the random stars on it were fun, too. But totally period as well. Regardless, there will be another Highlander movie. With Henry Cavill sporting a Scottish accent as we enjoy flashbacks of his centuries of history.

BUT WHO ELSE BESIDES CAVILL WILL STAR IN CLASSIC IMMORTAL DECAPITATION MOVIE?
But still, I’m torn. Henry Cavill? I never would have thought of him for this role. Well, or anyone else for that matter. I’ll be very, very curious to see who they cast as Connery’s Ramirez and Brown’s Kurgan characters. Hopefully, once I see a trailer for the new Highlander movie, I’ll be just as stoked as I still am over the forthcoming Dune reprisal. But seriously, Cavill. If this movie interferes with your shooting any more Witcher episodes, we’re having words. Like, for real. Sure, you’re all muscular and all. But you move like a pregnant yak.
