Canadian Charities Can’t Buy Ads About Climate Change for Election

BECAUSE OF ELECTION LAW, CANADIAN CHARITIES CAN’T RUN ADS ON THE “ISSUE” OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Say what?  But it’s true.  There’s an election in Canada this coming October and it’s against the law for charities or anyone else to buy ads talking about the dangers of Climate Change.  To say that’s weird is like saying you can hear me fine with all that sand in your ears.  So how can this be?  And why?  Well, it’s because one political candidate running for office says climate change is no threat at all.  That’s it.  That’s the reason why.  So according to Canadian law, anyone running a paid ad about climate change would be engaging in partisan activity.  So Canadian charities that want to tell everyone about climate change…. can’t.

BECAUSE ONE CANDIDATE SAYS IT’S NOT REAL, CANADIAN CHARITIES CAN’T RUN ADS CRITICIZING CANDIDATE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE DENIAL

So again, say what?  Others agree.  Critics of the situation say that this is “ludicrous” and will prevent any real discussion about climate change before this election.  I can’t say they’re wrong.  So who’s the asshat making this a problem in Canada?  His name is Maxime Bernier and he’s the leader of the People’s Party of Canada.  He’s made it clear several times he doesn’t think climate change is a crisis.  Just this past June, he said, “There is no climate change urgency in this country.”  Well, ok then.  But here’s the thing.  Canada is experiencing climate change twice as much as anywhere else in the world.  So it’s pretty much the last place anyone should be such a tool.

THANKS, CANADA!  WE’LL BE SURE TO WATCH YOUR CRAZY ELECTION BEFORE WE HAVE OUR OWN

So think about this.  If a candidate in Canada said that pedophilia wasn’t a problem, Canadian law says that no one could then run an ad disagreeing with that without being “partisan.”  But pick any topic!  Slavery is good.  National healthcare is bad.  Kids these days don’t really need to go to school.  If you run for office in Canada, you can make any accepted norm or accepted reality a forbidden topic.  All you have to do is make it an “issue” and no one can disagree with you on the air in a political ad of any kind.  We’ll just have to see where this goes, won’t we?

But now, I’m gonna go open an llc to sell Canadian bridges to Canadians.  Hey, it’s an issue.  Maybe we can find some charities to run some ads selling
