So there seems to be an upsurge in racist stupidity in Canada, too. Every day in the United States we hear several new stories about white people calling the police on minorities pretty much just because they’re not white. But this adds a new flavor from We The North Racists. In Canada there are A&W Restaurants and yes, they are just like the root beer with the same symbol. But one white patron, Nick Driedger, found out the hard way that the staff at this restaurant are racist. They called the police on him! Why? Because he bought a breakfast sandwich for an elderly indigenous woman. Is that the Canadian way? Why are A&W restaurants staffed with these racist creeps?

So for everyone down here in the crazy current Trumpland, indigenous means Indian, or American Indian. In Canada, they consider it racist and inappropriate to call them Indians. But it’s just fine for their restaurants to have a rule against buying meals for others because of “loitering concerns.” Do any of us think they would have called the cops if Driedger bought a little old white lady breakfast? Nah, didn’t think so. Driedger, for his part, thought that this situation was “clearly racist.” The A&W worker who called the police also said that the indigenous elderly woman was “menacing.”

Driedger wasn’t having it. He said, “This is a little lady, maybe 100 pounds with a walker. She couldn’t be menacing to anyone.” The Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrived in response to the call. But they didn’t even bother interviewing Driedger. According to Dreidger, “They just kind of shook their heads.” Everyone should be shaking their heads! Dreidger continued, “For me to get all this attention for something that Indigenous people face every day it isn’t right. It says a lot about our social norms.” So beware, Canada! As much as Trump is offending you guys, he’s infecting you too! Look out!
