SCANDALOUS! 20 CAMELS KICKED OUT OF OMAN BEAUTY PAGEANT FOR BOTOX
There’s obviously a lot going on this past week in the Middle East. But somehow I feel that this little story should also be included in the goings-on. Because yes, it is also outrageous. But it’s pretty easy to appreciate. Well, unless you are a camel owner who lost out for being just a little bit too much L.A…… Because this is a major contemporary beauty pageant scandal, even if it doesn’t involve underage girls and sitting heads of state. It’s a camel beauty pageant. And 20 of said camels were kicked out for cheating by using…. Botox.
20 CAMELS WERE FOUND TO HAVE USED BOTOX, AND FILLERS FOR THEIR HUMPS
First off, yes, apparently Botox is used by an audience broader than mere humans. And secondly, yes, apparently there are camel beauty pageants. This particular camel beauty pageant is the Al-Mussannah Camel Beauty Show in Oman which took place last week. For some reason, this news wasn’t on the front page last week. But in Oman, this was indeed scandalous. It came to light that no less than 20 camels had received Botox injections as well as fillers to make their humps larger. Yes, fillers for larger humps. Fortunately, these words have nothing to do with humans.

APPARENTLY, CHEATING CAMELS IN BEAUTY PAGEANTS IS NOTHING NEW AT ALL
When veterinarians looked the camels over, they discovered signs of hyaluronic acid injections, dermal fillers, silicone implants, Botox injections and wax used to smooth and enlarge humps. But if you’re like me, you are finding this to be a bit of a shocking revelation. But it seems that such cheating hijinks are nothing new at all when it comes to competitive events for the aesthetic of camels. The last major scandal was in 2021, at the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival.
