If You Have Chickens, You Need to Build Them a Chicken Swing

BORED CHICKENS ARE PECKISH UNHAPPY CHICKENS, AND JUST NEED A CHICKEN SWING

I’ve never kept chickens, though I do love fresh eggs in the morning.  Well, I love fresh eggs all day, every day.  But I’ve never kept chickens, though it’s an increasingly popular thing that people do, even in small yards.  And a chicken coop doesn’t take up too much room, though I can attest that they do take a little maintenance.  Cleaning is a daily routine, as is making sure coyotes and foxes can’t get in.  But for fresh eggs, it’s worth it!  But your chickens can’t get bored when they are home to roost.  Bored chickens can make for some destructive chicken behavior, which means fewer or even no eggs at all.  And the easiest solution to fix chicken boredom?  Build them a chicken swing!

WHILE THEY FEEL COOPED UP, A CHICKEN SWING IS AN EASY HEALTHY FIX TO KEEP THEM OCCUPIED

Bored chickens can get obsessive and that means plucking out their own feathers.  Or a bored chicken will engage in excessive heather-pecking of other birds.  And boredom feather-pecking behavior makes for an unhappy coop.  Unhappy coops don’t produce lots of fresh eggs every day, and could mean even more health problems for your faithful fowl over time.  So to help your cooped up chickens feel less cooped up, literally build them a swing!  Chickens literally love to swing.  It helps them stay happy and keep them occupied.  And a happily occupied chicken won’t tend to be as feather plucking destructive.

ADDING A CHICKEN SWING IS EASY, AND IT’S FUN TO WATCH THEM HAPPILY CLUCK BACK AND FORTH

Adding a chicken swing is pretty simple, too.  It doesn’t have to be specialized and could be something you would put in for your kids or even yourself.  And speaking of kids, if you have kids as well as chickens, this chicken swing is a win-win.  Put in swings for your kids and your chickens and everyone will be happier.  And an added benefit is that when your kids aren’t swinging themselves, they just might be watching the chickens happily cluck as they swing.  And yes, there is something ironic about a flightless bird being so entertained on a swing.  But they are!

And then you can enjoy fresh eggs every day while you watch your kids and chickens swing in the backyard.
