BROWNS PLAYER DAMARIOUS RANDALL OPENS MOUTH, INSERTS 1 MILLION TIMES
Ok, there are some things that sports figures need to know about their fan base. But that’s especially true when it comes to Cleveland and Ohio in general. Don’t ever root against a home team in public. That’s an easy one. But Browns player Damarious Randall screwed that up. Another thing to know is don’t issue a challenge that could cost you some money. And in this case, forget pride. This is way past pride. But Randall screwed that up too. It was just one sentence he wrote on Twitter. It was, “If the Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2018 NBA finals I’ll buy everyone who retweet’s this a jersey.”

STUPID TWEET PROMISING FREE JERSEY PUTS RANDALL 7TH ALL TIME MOST RETWEETED TWEET
Stupid, yes. But now an interesting car wreck in the making perhaps, too. His tweet went viral. And by viral, that means instant epidemic. He sent the tweet at 11:58 om on Monday. By Wednesday at 1:40 pm, it had been retweeted 761,000 times. Randall won one race, at least. He is now the athlete with the most retweeted tweet, ever. He edges out none other than Lebron James who held the record last year at 655,000 retweets. But as of now Damarious has broken 1 Million retweets. He is now in 7th place all time. See? There is a car wreck in the making.

Randall says it was all a joke, “obviously.” Oops. By 4 pm Wednesday, the number was already up to 804,000. While he says it was obviously a joke now, he promised to deliver the jerseys just five minutes after his original tweet. If Randall got a bulk price for whatever jersey he would order he might get a $25 charge for each. So far, the cost would be more than $25 million. He’ll only make $1,514,418 this coming year. While he will get bonuses and salary next year of over $9 million, he’s just a bit shy of filling the bill.
WARRIORS HAVE BRAZEN FOOL’S BACK, FOR NOW
So if you were to make a bet, who do you think Damarious Randall is rooting for in the NBA Finals? It ain’t the Browns hometown team of the Cavs, that’s for sure. So far, he’s dodged one bullet so far as the Warriors held home court and won Game 1.
