Reports of Three More Cases of Brain Burrowing Parasitic Worms in HawaiiNEW REPORTS OUT THAT HAWAII HAS THREE MORE CASES OF BRAIN BURROWING PARASITIC WORMS

So this keeps getting more and more disgusting.  I really don’t know what is wrong with people these days.  So if you didn’t already know better, please don’t eat any snails and slugs in Hawaii.  But no, I don’t mean in a French restaurant or the like.  I mean when you’re out hiking and you see a slug or snail and think, “that just looks amazing to eat!”  But it’s not amazing at all.  It’s disgusting.  But it’s also pretty damn dangerous.  Why?  Because eating these slimy slowpokes can give you a parasitic work that burrow into your brain.  That’s right, brain burrowing worms, in your damn brain.  And we have reports of three more of these in Hawaii.

BESIDES NOT EATING SLUGS OR SNAILS, BE SURE TO WASH THE CRAP, LITERALLY, FROM YOUR SALAD GREENS TOO

But there’s more!  Even if you didn’t need the above advice, here’s some more for more regular folks.  When in Hawaii, also be sure to wash your lettuce leaves or whatever greens you chow down on in your salad of choice.  You’ve got to be sure to get rid of any slug or snail “excretions,” which could include slime or just their poo.  Because that’s where you can get brain burrowing worms in your head from.  So if this sounds familiar, there’s a reason.  In the last year or two there have been a few cases of these across the world.  But you heard it described as rat lungworms.  And no, that hardly sounds any better, does it?

So here’s the deal.  If you aren’t careful, or if you do a stupid Frat rush and eat one of these slimy creatures, this is what can happen.  You can end up with severe neurological problems, which is kind of like being in a Frat.  But there’s also severe pain and the possibility of long-term disability.  So does it sound like a reasonable risk?  Hell, No!  Yet the three newest cases bring the grand total of brain burrowing worms to 15 since the start of 2018.  And here we are, just halfway thru 2019!  So don’t do it.  Don’t get worms in your brain, ok?
