MAN ROBBED AUSTIN BANK JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS

So a man entered Austin’s BBVA Compass Bank.  He was wearing a hood, which could be odd, though I don’t recall what the temperatures were like in Texas around Christmas.  But this man was up to no good for sure. He then passed a note to a teller, telling her to give him all the money.  So he did get the money and make his way out of the bank with no problems.  But that’s when the seeds of his capture landed on the ground and rooted.  Someone spotted him with a scooter.

So of course police then looked at surveillance footage and quickly found a man matching the robber’s description, riding on a scooter.  But it was a Jump scooter.  For those of us who don’t see these, that means this was a rentable Jump scooter.  So since Uber owns jump, it wasn’t too complicated for police to subpoena Uber.  Uber then handed over the phone number, credit card info as well as the email for one Luca Mangiarano.  Using surveillance footage to confirm his description as well as tracking Luca’s cell location data, police quickly placed him at the scene

Oh, and he rented the damn scooter the robber used to get away.
