Welcome to The Peepshow!
For centuries, the peepshow had been a popular form of entertainment, playing the role now occupied by television. By looking through a small hole into a viewing box, spectators could contemplate magical, bizarre and unusual sights that filled them with wonder, laughter … and, sometimes, with fear. The showmen traveling with these boxes would provide patter to go with the pictures, shaping the story according to their whims.
The Polaroid photographs appearing in this show are the work of American artist Joel B. Feldman (www.joelfeldman.us). They are not digitally altered in any way. The story you are about to read is a work of fiction. The ending has yet to be written — for you, dear reader, get to decide the fate of the Boy with the Backpack!
If you enjoy mystery, suspense and magic, please take a look! This is a family show. Please respect others who are trying to enjoy themselves, and remember: Don’t feed the animals. — B.B. Young
