So where were you a couple days ago? If you were in New Jersey, someone may want to talk to you. But it really depends if you were on the highway at the right place at the right time. Or is that the wrong time? The place was in East Rutherford, NJ. Especially if you were driving along Route 3, heading West. The time would have been about 8:30 in the morning. And it would have been especially noteworthy if you were just behind a Brink’s armored truck, as it scattered money across the highway. So how’s that for a rough commute?
DRIVERS STOPPED CARS, GOT OUT TO GRAB CASH, CRASHES
So you can easily imagine the scene. It’s a highway. Then suddenly there’s cash allover the highway. So everyone stops, gets out of their cars and starts to grab cash. But it’s a highway! That’s when the crashes start to happen. Cars are stopped. People are on the road. But other cars keep coming and they don’t know what’s going on. Seriously, if ChrisChristie wanted an easy way to shut down the George Washington Bridge, this would have worked better. But it could easily have been worse. Somehow, there were only two crashes.
POLICE INVESTIGATION WILL FIND PEOPLE WHO GRABBED CASH
Some folks who were out there grabbing cash have called police to arrange a way to return it. Evidently just a few hours was all it took to convince people their money road killing wasn’t a good thing. And they’re right. There were cameras out there! And even if there’s money on the highway, it doesn’t make it legal to get out of your car to grab some free manna. So supposedly, the rear door of the truck malfunctioned and didn’t close properly. That’s how the cash escaped out all over the road. Over half a million dollars fell out. Almost $300,000 is still missing.
