MIT STUDY CONFIRMS THAT USING AI FREQUENTLY MAKES YOU DUMB AND THEN EVEN DUMBER
AI IS ALREADY USED FAR TOO MUCH BY UNDERGRADS, GRADS AND PROFESSIONALS ALL GETTING DUMBER
Sure, it’s always seemed to be a safe bet that trading in your own critical and creative thinking for a few convenient clicks would in turn diminish your ability to think and be creative. But a study from MIT took a deep look, and found that people who use AI frequently are literally getting dumb and then dumber. Just think of all those undergrads, grads, and even professionals of all stripes who use AI for their essays, papers, books and even legal writs. It’s making them less intelligent as a phenomenon.

DUMBER MEANS THAT YOU ARE LITERALLY CRIPPLING YOUR BRAIN BY NOT USING IT
But how? Students as a group who used ChatGPT a lot had “weakened neural connectivity, impaired memory recall,” and lack of connection to their own work. I mean, their own AI work. It’s creating quite the conflict, as AI-generated work grades well just as it literally makes people dumber. And, it’s a trend that we’re only now starting to be aware of and track. LLMs like ChatGPT and Grok literally teach our brains to disengage. And like any muscle: use it or lose it. So expect to hear more about this in the coming months and years. Hopefully, you won’t be dumb and even dumber and will be able to understand the ramifications.
Actually, I hope you can now.
