5 Simple Tips to Help You Achieve Health Goals, More Money, More Love

Health is everything in life

Health is far more important in life than money or sex.

Being healthy is the single most important thing in the life of every human being and yet somehow, we still tend to take our well-being for granted until there’s a health problem we have to deal with. The truth is that our habits and how we treat ourselves constantly affects our health and if we don’t pay attention, only our behavior can be the main cause of serious conditions we face in later years of life. This is why it’s so vital to have our health goals in check and create good habits throughout life, even though there are so many distractions along the way. These 5 tips on how to achieve your health goals might be useful as you struggle to make a right decision every day and live as healthily as possible.

1.    Pay Attention to How You Feel

This is a general notion but it never ceases to amaze me how people are barely aware of their own physical existence and how little significance they give to their bodies. This lack of awareness is the main reason why we fail to notice changes in our body that can lead to serious problems so the first thing to do in order to achieve your health goals is to observe.

It’s important to know how you feel every day and why it is so. Some days you will be in a better mood than others, some days you’ll wake up with a headache and sometimes you’ll feel like everything is alright with the world, but it’s essential that you do take notice. Come back into your body and observe how you feel in your own skin – if there is something that is constantly bothering you, like a skin rash or a pain that just won’t go away, don’t let it escalate, go and have it checked out. I’m not saying you should be a hypochondriac, but know how you feel and respect it, that should always be the healthy habit number one.

2.    Pay Attention to When You Go to Sleep and Wake Up

It’s not enough just to say that you need to sleep enough, at least 7 hours each night, though this is a relevant fact. If you want to sleep well in order to give time to your metabolism to rest, it’s important to have a routine for when you hit the sack and wake up. If you want your body to serve you well, then you need to give it structure, a routine, especially when it comes to sleeping. If you’re a troubled sleeper or you have sleep breathing problems, then a sleeping routine is crucial so that your metabolism knows exactly when it’s time for “lights out”.

Having a good night’s sleep in continuity is beneficial for every aspect of your health – your brain function, your heart and overall optimal functioning of your entire body. It’s always a good idea to go to bed before midnight and wake up with the sun, but everyone’s circadian rhythm is different, so explore what is the best time during the day for you to sleep.

3.    Don’t Avoid Exercise

This is a toughie, seeing that so many people still see any and every form of exercise as a hellish form of torture but the key here is to find what you love. Maybe you feel too exposed in the gym and maybe you’ve got weak knees to run every other morning, but there are countless sporty pursuits you can try out to find what you like best. You don’t have to work out vigorously four times a week in order to be healthy, but you do need to be active every day.

If your job has you glued to a chair eight hours a day, then you can be sure that your body needs some movement, not to mention that you will feel much better too. When it comes to what kind of activity it should be, the sky is the limit – whatever feels good and fun for you and still has you moving around burning off some calories is what you should go for. One thing is for certain, in order to obtain your health goals, you need to embrace exercise and movement as a blessing and a way to contribute to your health and a healthy self-image.

4.    Eat Well, Drink Well

With all the unhealthy junk food surrounding us, we’ve forgotten what it means to eat well. No, that doesn’t mean that you need to keep a strict diet in order to be healthy, but you do need a variety of products in your system in order to get all the nutrients you require. In other words, you should focus on products that come from the earth instead of those that come from the factories.

Plenty of fruit and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and lean meats should all be irreplaceable parts of your everyday diet. They’re not only good for keeping a healthy weight and supplying your metabolism with vitamins and minerals, they’re also delicious and wholesome, which means that you will enjoy eating them and feel full longer afterward. When it comes to drinking, water is the alpha and omega here and you should drink it whenever you feel thirsty and never replace it with sugary sodas. We’re over 70% water, which means drinking plenty of it is as healthy as it gets. Of course, you can indulge yourself with a glass of wine here and there, but in general avoid alcohol, since you’re only drinking up empty calories, not to mention your body suffers in the aftermath.

5.    Learn to De-Stress

The ultimate health goal and necessity is to avoid stress in any shape and form whenever possible. This is much easier said than done in our ridiculously stressful world where everything from social media to your own thoughts never stops making a ruckus. If you want to survive and be good at it, then it’s absolutely paramount to learn how to de-stress. For some it’s yoga and meditation, for others it’s spending some time in nature, and for some, it’s just finding time to relax with their favorite book. Find what helps you wipe the slate clean after a stressful day and let go of everything that might be troubling, even for an hour or two.

It will make all the difference both in the short run and in the long-term because stress is the trigger of countless diseases and chronic health conditions and you can prevent it all, simply by choosing to stop, breathe in and let go.

Your health is the one thing you should never gamble with, so do your best to achieve your health goals and then work on improving them. Taking care of yourself and your well-being is something you will never regret and it’s something you can always be better at, so get to it.
